Alephs of Simon Atlas have many events per week, and they are extremely dedicated. On every Monday we hold a meeting at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington, which typically go from seven o’clock to eight o’clock at night. On a Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays we occasionally have a fundraiser to raise money for our chapter. Once a month, on a Friday night we will have a Shul of the Month, where our chapter will gather at a local Shul to pray. After, we typically go to a members house for dinner and hang out. Every Saturday we have a new and unique program as a chapter. Some weeks our programs are meaningful, and some weeks they are extremely fun. After programs we will go to Silver Diner on Rockville Pike to meet up with our friends in other chapters. To conclude our week of events, we do many activities on Sundays: AZAA, which is our sports league, flag football in the fall, and basketball in the winter. Football and basketball are held at the JCC. We also have a Mitzvah of the Month, every month, which is an event where we give back to the community in some way. Finally, on some Sundays we will have a bake sale to raise additional funds for our chapter.
Alephs will receive weekly emails with the events from the week from our Mazkir. If you are an inducted member, and are not recieving comms, talk to our Mazkir Josh Akum. You can reach him at mazkir@simonatlas.org.
